Article II  The part of the Constitution that describes the executive branch of the government.

commander in chief  Highest leader of the military forces. In the United States, it is the president.

Electoral College  The group of presidential electors who cast the official votes for president and vice president after a presidential election. Each state has a number of electors equal to the total of its members in the Senate and House of Representatives.

impeach  To accuse a public official of committing a crime while he or she is in office.

treaty  An official agreement between two or more governments or rulers.
