160th Anniversary of Cedar Creek: Voting & The Civil War

Join us for a compelling webinar presented in partnership between the American Battlefield Trust (ABT) and the Center for Civic Education (CCE) as we discuss the 160th anniversary of the Battle of Cedar Creek. This webinar will not only explore the intersection of voting, the Civil War, and constitutional challenges but also delve into the unique voting circumstances during the 1864 election, including soldiers' participation in the democratic process amidst the war.

Participants will engage in an interactive activity analyzing historical documents and learn about a lesson plan designed to teach middle school students about the history of voting rights in the United States and the ongoing debate about lowering the voting age. Don't miss this unique opportunity to connect history and civic education in a meaningful way!
